National Seminars :

         The First National Seminar on 2nd & 3rd February 2008 of St. Xavier College of Education was inaugurated with pomp on Saturday  (02.02.2008). The Registrar, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Dr. V. Radhakrishnan, was the Chief Guest. The Founder Rev. Fr. Dr. A. Savarimuthu conveyed his best wishes and prayers. Shri. I. Maria Selvam, the Correspondent in his felicitation said that “Challenges in Contemporary Teacher Education” is to be faced by the teacher educators. So the education industry needs to be reorganized or reoriented. The Registrar released the Abstracts on “Challenges in Contemporary Teacher Education” and the Principal Dr. M. Antony Pitchai received the first copy.

Karpagakumaravel, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Prof.& Head, Dept. of Educational Technology, Bharathidasan University, Thiruchirappalli gave the Valedictory address and distributed the certificates.

         The Second National Seminar on 6th & 7th March, 2010 of St. Xavier College of Education was inaugurated with glow on Saturday (06.03.10). The Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University Prof. Dr. T. Padmanaban, was the Chief Guest. The Founder Rev. Fr. Dr. A. Savarimuthu conveyed his best wishes and prayers. Shri. I. Maria Selvam, the Correspondent in his felicitation said that Skilful human resources are the need of the day. So the education industry needs to be reorganized or reoriented in tune with the changing scenario. The Vice Chancellor released the Abstracts on “Tone Up Teacher Education in Tune with ICT” and the Principal Dr. M. Antony Pitchai received the first copy.

         Dr. R. Krishna Kumar, Professor, Department of Education, Annamalai University, Delivered the Key note address. He said education happened during Vedic period by “Sharavana and Manana” i.e., what ever was said by the gurus, that was byhearted. Dr. (Mrs.). Umme Kulsum, Associate Professor, Department of Education Bangalore University, Er. W. Arun Joseph Selvakumar, Asst. Professor, Dept. of I.T., Joe Suresh College of Engineering, Dr. S. Santhana Krishnan, Principal, Sri Angalamman College of Education, Dr.(Mrs.) S. Umarani, Associate Professor, Govt. College of Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Geetha Janet Vitus, Lecturer, (Senior Scale), Department of Education, University of Kerala gave Special addresses. Dr. K. Anandan, Professor & Head, Dept. of Education, Bharathidhasan University, Tiruchirappaplli gave the Valedictory address and distributed the certificates.

International Seminar :

         A 2 day International Seminar on “Teaching to Teach and Learning to Learn in the Contemporary classrooms” was conducted on 31 January and 1 February, 2015 in the college. The seminar was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance cell. In the presence of Mr.I.Mariaselvam Correspondent of Madha Group of Educations IQAC Director Dr.M.Antony Pitchai welcomed the gathering.

         Dr. Authimoolam  Professor Sultanate   OMAN gave the Inaugural speech.   Mr.I.Mariaselvam the correspondent, Dr.R.Muthaiyan Professor Thanjavur Tamil University and Dr.Ramamohan, Principal, St. Xavier College of Education gave their felicitations for the seminar.

         Major Balasubramanian   Principal School of education Sastra University gave       the keynote address. Teaching should be done with passion incorporation the current innovations.Learning will spontaneously flourish. Along with the three domain of education taxonomy, there should be moral realm, he exhorted. Research scholars from Barathiyar, Barathidasan and Sastra University and students from various colleges of education, presented the papers.

         Dr.Kanagarajan  Principal K.S.K.College of Education, Dr.Kaliammal Principal Mass College of Education, Dr.Franciska from St. Ignatius College of Education, Palayamkottai, and Dr.Umachitra Headmistress Thenkasi anchored the technical sessions.

        Monograph  with ISBN  with contributor’s photographs was released by Dr.Authimoolam. Valedictory address was delivered by Dr.Mohana sundaram, grade I principal, government Arts College of Kumbakonam.

Youth Workshop :

         St. Xavier College of Education and International Association for Religious Freedom-India Chapter jointly conducted a Youth Workshop on 21.03.2016 Monday in the college Auditorium. Founder Rev. Fr. A. Savarimuthu blessed the events. The Correspondent Shri. I. Maria Selvam felicitated the celebrations. The collge students read the Bible, the Bahavath Geetha and the Kuran. Dr. N. Karunanidhi, Principal (i/c) welcomed the gathering. Correspondent and IARF Members lighted the kuthuvilaku. Dr. M. Autony Pitchai, College IQAC Advisor delivered the Inagural Speech. IARF National Secretary Dr.P.Arul Prahasam delivered the Keynote address. He pointed out about the Human Rights. Followed by IARF President and workshop Co-ordinator Mr. M. Ramachandran and IARF Members Advocate Mr. B.T. Chidambaram, Mr. Jeyabalan, Mr. Krishnamoorthy and Mrs. Rani Ramachandran gave the speical address on various topics. They mentioned about the importance of Human rights, Religion & Tolerance. Five groups were formed among the students and they did Group activities about the topics Human Rights, Interfaith, Religion & Tolerance. Certificates were issued to the Staff and the Students who participated

Citizen Consumer Council :

           Citizen Consumer Council was started on 24.02.2009 Tuesday. The Principal of our college Dr. M. Antony Pitchai presided. In the presence of our correspondent Shri. I. Maria Selvam, Shri. S. pasupathy, Taluk Supply officer, Kumbakonam Taluk inaugurated the Council. The Co-ordinator of Thanjavur Citizen Consumer Council Shri. Sundaravimalanathan, explained the councils and objectivities and activities. Dr.M. Suresh Kumar was appointed as the Professor in charge of the council.

Youth Red Cross Society :

            Youth Red Cross Society of our college functions from 2007 on wards. The Society conducts the programmes on First Aid Training, Fire Service, Eye Camp, Medical Camp, Herbal Exhibition, Blood Donation and Aids Awareness Camp Mr. S. Singaravelu is our Programme Officer.
